CTC Upgrade 02
From TheBeard Science Project Wiki
My CTC Bizer was having problems with static build-up disrupting the SD card and causing the print to fail (read more here).
I also explored other possible problems and decided to solve a lot of them all at once.
Things I needed:
- Static shielding for PCBs
- Static shielding for ribbon cables
- Grounding for PCBs
- Move stepper motor wires away from PCBs
- Add better surge protection/UPS
- Check for wire fatigue
- check all wire connections
- Test SD card
- Test if there are software/gcode problems
The main thing that solved my problems was static shielding/grounding for the SD card and LCD PCBs. I used aluminum tape and kapton tape for shielding. Also, moving the stepper wires away was important (they produce a lot of electromagnetic interference).
