I wanted to see how many Amps I could get out of a microwave oven transformer (MOT). I found that a 2 AWG cable was the biggest cable I could fit in the core, and that was the limiting factor. In the end, I was able to produce 1,017 Amps at 2V, which was better than I expected. In the video below, I also demonstrate possible applications as a spot welder.
