View source for Unattended-Upgrades Automatically Rebooting The System


When you enable automatic installation of security upgrades, it uses the <i>unattended-upgrades</i> service to managed the upgrades. If you want to make sure that this service does not automatically reboot the system, follow this procedure:

# Edit the file <code>/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades</code> and add or edit the line: <code>Unattended-Upgrade::Automatic-Reboot "false";</code>
# Restart the service:
#: <pre>sudo service unattended-upgrades restart</pre>
